Welcome to Surecare Specialist Orthopedic Hospital Irete, Owerri West LGA Imo State. I am Dr. Amadi Chibunbu C, the Medical Director and CEO of this institution.

It is both an honour and a privilege to lead a team that is so deeply committed to providing exceptional orthopaedic care and making a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients.

With over eleven years of experience as a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon in the healthcare industry and a deep passion for Orthopaedic surgery, my journey has been driven by a commitment to improving the quality of life for patients. My interest in Orthopaedic Surgery was influenced by my artistic skills and love for science subjects in my early academic journey.

It was a difficult task choosing medicine instead of mechanical engineering. However, when I was introduced to Orthopaedic Surgery, it was a dream come through. Orthopaedics satisfactorily combined my two dream courses — medicine and engineering.

I was at home with the course and this helped me go through the training successfully.

I am naturally drawn to people in need, especially those with treatable physical challenges. This was also a motivation to go into the field of orthopaedics.

I hold an MBBS degree from the University of Port-Harcourt (2000). I am a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS).

Outside of my professional life, I am passionate about teaching and mentoring, singing and listening to good music, spending time with family and friends of like minds.

These activities keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of maintaining a balanced life  a principle I encourage in our hospital’s approach to patient care.
